MC-Xpress has a long, successful history
of building turbo kits for other applications and has now
entered the OHV market. Erik Marklund built his first turbo
kit for a GS1100 in 1983. He started MC-Xpress to sell turbo
kits commercially for motorcycles in 1990. He has an extensive
history with many records to his credit. The company ventured
into the snowmobile market in 2002 with the introduction of
a kit for the Arctic Cat 660 . MCXpress' turbo kits are well
know to be some of the best built.

Many of our customers and turbo dealers
are often asking us: When shall you start making turbo kits
to ATV and 4-wheelers?
For several years we have thought about doing this. We have
earlier installed turbo on three different one cylinder 4-stroke
engines. The first test was made on a Honda XR 650, second
a Polaris Predator 500 Quad racer and the last turbo we made
was a Arctic Cat 500 ATV-machine. The result was O.K, but
not as good as expected on either of them. A one cylinder
engine makes very strong pulses on both intake and exhaust.
This makes it difficult to get a good result we must admit.
But we did not give up. We just had to work harder
This spring we started to make turbo-tests
on the Yamaha Rhino 660. We spent a lot of
time to learn more about how to turbo charge one cylinder
engines. Everything was not as expected. One thing that we
saw was that the turbo size was very important. The location
of the turbo is important too. We tested everything we could
imagine before we where satisfied.
The result became better than we ever expected. The
power raised from the stock 30 hp on the rear wheel to over
60 hp. And the turbo pressure was only 0,8 bar. (=
about 11 PSI) This is better power gain than the average 4
stroke engine produce at this pressure. And the turbo start
to boost very early too. The turbo lag doesn’t
almost exist.
Now we are so satisfied that we proudly can offer a kit to
the Yamaha Rhino.
